Adult Sunday morning classes
Sunday classes meet from 9:45-10:45 (between the two worship services) in the education building behind St. Andrew’s main building. Childcare for 2 year olds and younger and classes for 3 year olds through senior high are available at the same time.
Faith is something that continues to grow throughout one’s life. It is rooted in the love of God and is nourished through regular worship and study. One of the great gifts of the church is that we can grow together with other followers as we stretch one another’s minds and hearts in community.
Make spiritual growth one of your goals this new school year and join one of St. Andrew’s adult classes. There’s a chair waiting for you!
WINTER 2019 SUNDAY ADULT CLASSES
Keep that resolution you’ve been thinking about for years: plan to attend an adult class in January. Here’s what our classes are planning:
Lead Your Family Like Jesus by Ken Blanchard. Blanchard, renowned business guru and the author of The One-Minute Manager, helps parents understand how to follow in the footsteps of the world’s greatest servantleader, Jesus. Built on practical principles and personal stories, this study will help build Christ-centered families. The Homebuilders’ Class, comprised of parents of young children, is led by Bo Hamrick and Sara Collins and meets in Room 101 on the first floor of the education building.
A Life Well-Lived by Charles Swindoll. Rooted in the book of Micah, Swindoll encourages us to turn away from the “Checklist Christianity” that misses God’s message of redemption and turn toward the fullness of the Creator’s love and grace. The Jack Holladay Class is led by Curtis Corl and meets in Room 206 on the second floor of the education building.
The History of Christianity: From the Disciples to the Dawn of the Reformation by Luke Timothy Johnson. From the Great Courses series, this study looks at how a persecuted sect in first-century Palestine rose to become the largest and most global religious tradition in history. The Faith Journey Class is led by Harry Cross and meets in Room 205 on the second floor of the education building.
Grateful by Diana Butler Bass. Although most of us know that gratitude is good — and good for us — there is a gap between our desire to be grateful and our ability to behave gratefully. The implications of the gap are bigger than we realize, affecting both our personal and public lives. Bass weaves together social science research, spiritual wisdom, and contemporary issues as she calls for a richer understanding and practice of gratitude. The Challenge of Faith Class is led by Steve Suhring and meets in Room 204 on the second floor of the education building.
